The Programme

Home / About  / The Programme

The computer games development programme at The Games Hub is a fully-funded, and therefore free, 40-week course running from October to June each year. Teams either take the idea for a game to prototype, or, if the team has already started a project externally, take the prototype through to demonstrable product.

Throughout the course, veteran developers will teach and mentor the teams, and there will be regular visits from industry experts. They will help to teach the teams about key areas of game development and business at weekly sessions, covering topics including:

  • Programming
  • Games design
  • Graphics
  • Art and production
  • Monetization
  • Accountancy
  • IP ownership
  • Marketing
  • Business planning

Upon conclusion of the programme teams will be able to show their games to invited media, investors and publishers with the aim of securing the investment to take their game to market.

OPEN SESSIONS

If you want to know more about the programme we’ll be holding two open sessions later in the year at The Games Hub offices in Colchester, Essex.

We think this is the best way to see for yourself what The Games Hub is about, so please sign up to our mailing list to be updated on these when dates are confirmed.
